The discharge from septic tanks presents a serious threat to our groundwaters, rivers and estuarine systems. They have a limited ability to process or treat effluent effectively and have no ability to reduce total nitrogen and total phosphorous discharges.
There has long been a problem in providing suitable waste treatments for temporary camps such as the initial camp for construction or a camp that is only in place for 6-18 months. Usually the options were to get the waste stored and pumped or if possible, build in ground septic systems.
Shutdown Solutions Australia have developed a fully portable ATU that is fully containerised. There are no separate components to transport or modules to join together, as the complete unit has been designed to fit within a 12m shipping container, thus making the unit extremely robust and transportable.
The Roadrunner ATU 10000™ system is capable of being operational on day of arrival to site, providing a maximum daily flow rate of 10,000L at a final effluent quality of Class “B”
The ATU incorporates a number of innovative features including Aluminium Sulphate for nutrient suppression, Ozone bacterial treatment, dual discharge systems for reliability. The ATU can be configured to include in-ground transfer of waste water where sufficient gravity fall is not available.
We have incorporated features that allow continuous operation in the harshest operating environments throughout Australia while requiring minimal intervention or maintenance.
Basic Treatment Process of the Roadrunner ATU 10000™ Unit:
- Primary tank for sedimentation, digestion and storage of solid matter.
- Secondary tank for flow equalisation and additional capacity. Alum is introduced at his stage to further settle solids.
- Twin Aeration tanks providing a large volume for reduction of organic matter
- Clarification tank for final removal of any remaining suspended solids
- The final tank in which the water is disinfected using OZONE before discharge
With two capacities available within this containerised configuration the units are suitable for up to 100+ EP. The relocatable ATU provides either as a short term solution or alternatively they can be used for the life of the project. |
